Allama Muhammad Iqbal Importance of 9th November in Pakistan History

In Pakistan, the 9th of November is celebrated as Iqbal Day. This is a public holiday commemorating the life and works of Muhammad Iqbal, a philosopher, poet and politician in British India who is widely regarded as having inspired the Pakistan Movement. He is considered one of the most important figures in Urdu literature, with literary work in both the Urdu and Persian languages.

Iqbal is admired as a prominent classical philosopher in Pakistan and is considered the national poet of the country. His poetry often fuses the two philosophies of selfhood (Khudi) and the totality of life (Rabbani), as well as addressing various aspects of social issues, human behavior and the desire to live life with honor, enthusiasm and freedom.

So, on the 9th of November every year, Iqbal Day is observed with respect and reverence. The government, private organizations, educational institutions, and the media conduct various programs, seminars, and talks about Iqbal's messages in philosophy, his national political vision and his vision of a pure Islamic society. Students and scholars of educational institutions deliver speeches on the life, work, philosophy, and thoughts of Allama Iqbal.

The aim is to instill a sense of inspiration from Iqbal’s message to continue the struggle for individuality and dignity. His vision of Pakistan as a free and just society has made this day an important part of Pakistan's history and culture.
